Most friends who use overseas apps want to subscribe to memberships, but apps downloaded from the Apple Store only recognize overseas Apple IDs for membership subscriptions. This requires payment in US dollars. An ID from a specific country uses that country's currency for payment. For example, the most commonly used US ID uses US dollars.

The problem is: Generally, an inactive US Apple ID cannot subscribe to memberships at all. When making a payment, it will prompt that the transaction cannot be completed, and to contact customer service, etc.

This introduces a concept, which is in-app purchase.

What is an in-app purchase?

An in-app purchase means spending money within an app downloaded from the Apple Store, such as purchasing memberships, topping up game points, or other related paid services.

Generally speaking, if a US Apple ID is not an active account, in-app purchases are basically not possible.

To subscribe to memberships via in-app purchase, you need to nurture the account, meaning frequently using this ID and occasionally spending on paid apps.

A US Apple ID can purchase paid apps by topping up the balance with gift cards, but it just cannot subscribe to memberships.

By using it regularly like this, the in-app purchase function will usually be automatically activated within about a month, though activation is not guaranteed. The ID used by this site itself was able to automatically subscribe to memberships after about a month of use.
